to all our American subscribers, family and friends!

Quick History Lesson: Independence Day is celebrated annually on the 4th of July and is also known as “the Fourth of July”. It is the anniversary of the declaration of independence from Great Britain in 1776. Since the declaration was announced, the date has become a federal holiday for American citizens. Many patriotic displays and family events are organized throughout the United States in celebration of their independence.

Independence Day is full of family celebrations with picnics and BBQs with emphasis on the American tradition of political freedom. You’ll discover popular activities throughout the day including watermelon or hotdog eating competitions, sporting events such as baseball, three-legged races, swimming activities and tug-of-war games. You’ll discover many people displaying the American flag outside their homes and even neighbourhood communities getting together for fireworks in the evening.
