Kate and I are so excited to announce our next and first destination of 2015 is ICELAND, the land of fire and ice.. but most importantly stunning northern lights and incredible untouched beauty. Our fingers are crossed with high hopes that we’ll get to spot the ever famous northern lights, but even if we aren’t lucky enough, Iceland is an island full of surreal unimaginable beauty that we can’t wait to set foot on.

Our plan is to hire a 4×4 and simply go explore. Driving around the country, experiencing the true Icelandic life and the best part is we’re going with our friends Jade and Tom! As we have a place to stay Reykjavik to use as our base, we don’t need to worry about packing too much apart from our cameras and wooly knickers (for the ladies amongst us!). Since the flight is less than 3 hrs for us, we’ll all be cramming as much as we can into hand luggage to cut costs. The great thing about going with friends means we can all share vital luggage space!

So, why Iceland?

We have been asked by many people, let this incredible video answer it for you:

I’m sure we don’t need to tell you how breathtaking Iceland’s landscape is, or the fact it could actually be one of the most beautiful places in the world. Not forgetting to mention the majestic waterfalls, natural hot springs, the original geyser, stunning oceanside views.. all fairly accessible too! We have planned to go near the end of Feb, to give us a good chance of seeing the Northern Lights, but also to give us enough day light to really make the most of our time in Iceland.

The awe-inspiring Iceland doesn’t give up on keeping you on your toes, be prepared to experience limitless tours and activities right at your fingertips. There’s so much variety from The Golden Circle route tours, exploring 2,000 year old lava caves to riding on the largest glacial lakes in Iceland at the Jokulsarlon Lagoon. Whale watching with an unforgettable sea boat adventure to snorkelling between the American and Eurasian tectonic plates in the Thingvellir National Park. – We are spoilt for choice, but will soon be announcing our plans as they unfold..

It’s safe to say we’re SO excited and can’t wait to share our experiences with you!
